The holidays are a time to enjoy family and friends and to give thanks for all that we have, as well as give gifts to our loved ones. For very special handmade gifts, check out the area’s holiday bazaars, boutiques and craft fairs listed in chronological order below.

The Winter Market, hosted by the Morton Grove Farmers’ Market, will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 1 and Feb. 2, 2013 at MG Civic Center, 6140 Dempster St., Morton Grove. These indoor markets will feature more than two dozen vendors selling foods, gifts and decorations for the winter holidays. New this year, an upstairs café area for kids’ crafts, music and entertainment, and prepared food. Christmas Cookie, Candy, & Craft Walk 2012 hosted by Community Protestant Church, UCC in Mundelein will be 3 to 7 p.m. Dec. 7 and on 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 8 at Fellowship Hall, 418 N. Prairie Ave., Mundelein. It features homemade cookies, candy and crafts, plus the Jingle Bell Room, full of gently used jewelry, holiday decor items and vintage holiday decorations. A Holiday Bake Sale and Craft Sale, hosted by Our Lady of the Brook Catholic Church, Dec. 8-9 after all masses as well as 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at 3700 Dundee Road, Northbrook. The sale is sponsored by the parish’s Women’s Club, and will be open before and after mass at 5 p.m. Saturday, and after 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sunday masses.
