Barrington area police blotter for Oct. 22 - Oct. 29, 2012

The following incidents were listed in the official reports of the Barrington area police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest by police does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.

Barrington

DUI

Ernest P. Losch, 61, of 1305 West Quail Hollow Lane, Palatine, was arrested Oct. 19 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol content of .08 or over. He also was cited for driving with an obstructed windshield and driving on the median of Route 14 near the Makray Golf Club. Losch was released on bond and given a court date of Nov. 28 in Cook County.

Mark A. Mott, 50, of 2360 South Cannon Drive, Mount Prospect, was arrested Oct. 20 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and driving on a suspended license. He also was cited for illegal lane use and failing to signal at Barrington Road and Hough Street. Mott was released on bond and given a court date of Nov. 28 in Cook County.

Tsutomu Sekigami, 54, of 20337 Lea Road, Deer Park, was arrested Oct. 24 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Sekigami also was cited for speeding and failing to wear a seat belt at Ela and Hillside roads. Sekigami was released on bond and given a court date of Nov. 28 in Cook County.

WARRANT ARREST

Marie A. Stallone, 55, of 449 White Oak Lane, Barrington, was arrested Oct. 25 for an active Lake County warrant after being stopped at Eastern Avenue and Route 14. Stallone was later released on bond and given a Lake County court date.

BATTERY

A 17-year-old female from Hoffman Estates was charged with battery Oct. 25 at 421 Lageschulte St. She was released on bond and given a court date of Dec. 11 in Cook County.

South Barrington

BURGLARY

A demolition site was burglarized Oct. 22 on the first block of West Higgins Road. The police report states that the fence to the back of the property was cut and that storage trailers were opened. A tractor was driven into a pond and a power washer, grinder and air compressor were missing. The fence and a 1970 Ford tractor were reported damaged.

A residence was burglarized Oct. 15 on the first block of Pentwater Drive. The police report states that a worker repairing the floors at the property arrived at the scene and noticed some tools and an attic furnace were missing. The worker then called the property owner, who arrived at the scene and noticed other items missing, according to the report. A window’s screen was cut out and muddy footprints were found around it in the basement. A furnace and humidifier had been removed, according to the report. Additional items missing include two air conditioner units, two children’s bicycles, a vacuum cleaner, a table saw, six ceiling fans, a kitchen sink, a microwave, three nail guns and a patio chair.

DRUGS

Brandon L. Hernandez, 19, of 570 Northview Lane, Hoffman Estates, was arrested Oct. 15 and charged with possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and underage possession of alcohol. He was taken into custory in the parking lot of the AMC movie theater at 175 Studio Drive. Hernandez was taken into custody and later released on bond. He was assigned a Cook County court date on Nov. 9.

THEFT

A store employee at the CVS pharmacy on the first block of Higgins Road called police Oct. 21 to report a theft. The police report states the employee observed a man enter the store and remove six boxes of Rogaine totaling more than $150. The employee said the man carryied the items out in a green bag that he carried over the sensors as he left the store.
