With all 26 precincts reporting, Republican incumbent Craig Taylor has retained his 19th District seat on the Lake County Board.

Taylor won with 9,875 votes, or 64.89 percent of the district’s 15,219 total votes, according to unofficial results from the Lake County Board of Election.

Democratic challenger Deborah Barry finished with 35.11 percent, or 5,344 votes.

To gain reelection, Taylor ran on a platform focused largely on balancing the budget, ideally without raising taxes.

Barry aimed to improve communication, transparency and invest to fix road construction issues in Lake County.

Both candidates agreed that making Lake County attractive to businesses and subsequently bringing jobs to the area was of significant importance as well.
