The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Barrington area police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
James M. Ross, 21, of 32 Deverell Drive, Barrington, was arrested Dec. 23 at Route 14 and Route 59 and charged with driving under the influence of an intoxicating compound. He also was cited for driving with one taillight. Ross was taken into custody and released on bond. He was given a court date of Jan. 16.
A 17-year-old female from Barrington Hills was arrested Jan. 1 for underage consumption of alcohol after a traffic stop at Route 14 and Route 59. She also was cited for illegal lane use, speeding, driving with no insurance, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating a vehicle after curfew. She was released on bond and given a court date of Jan. 16.
Vance Howard, 27, of 1525 Meghan Ave., Algonquin, was arrested at 1:23 a.m. Dec. 29 at Route 62 near Bridlewood Trail and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. He also was cited for speeding, illegal lane use, driving an uninsured motor vehicle and illegal transportation of alcohol. The police report states that Howard was stopped after an officer noticed him speeding and swerving between lanes. Howard failed subsequent field sobriety tests, the report states. Police say officers searched the vehicle and found an empty cup with alcohol residue and several empty liquor bottles on the floor of the vehicle. Howard was taken into custody and later released. He was given a Jan. 23 court date in Cook County.
Aditya Ojha, 22, of 644 Morningside Court, Schaumburg, was arrested at 11:26 p.m. Dec. 28 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. The police report states Ojha was stopped after police received a call regarding a hit and run. Ojha was taken to bond call and given a court date of Feb. 11.
