The following incidents were listed among the official reports of the Barrington area police departments. Readers are reminded that an arrest does not constitute a finding of guilt. Only a court of law can make that determination.
Donald A. Nelson, 49, of 943 Hawthorne Ave., Elmhurst, was arrested Feb. 25 and charged with battery at 130 Harrison St. He was released on bond and given a court date of March 11 in Lake County.
Melissa M. Torres, 35, of 963 Old Oak Circle, Algonquin, was arrested March 3 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a police report, Torres was observed swerving between lanes while traveling northbound on Route 59 near Penny Road. After a traffic stop, Torres failed subsequent field sobriety tests, police said. She was later released and given a Cook County court date of March 26.
Brian T. Bajorek, 22, of 505 Asbury Court, Fox River Grove, was arrested Feb. 22 and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. According to a police report, officers initiated a traffic stopped after an officer observed the driver speeding and swerving on Barrington Road near Route 62. Bajorek failed subsequent field sobriety tests, police said. He was also issued citations for speeding and illegal lane use. He was later released and given a Cook County court date of March 8.
A theft was reported March 2 at Cooper’s Hawk restaurant, 100 W. Higgins Road. A Streamwood woman reported that her wallet had been taken out of her purse, which she had hung on a hook, according to a police report.
