A Lake County resident has filed an elections complaint against a woman running against U.S. Rep. Brad Schneider, D-10th.

The complaint was filed with the Illinois State Board of Elections that stated the signed petitions supporting Lake Bluff resident Arlene Hickory contained unregistered voters.

Peter Couvall, who filed the complaint, said of the 892 signatures 120 were not registered to vote in the 10th District.

“And that takes her below the 788 minimum number of signatures,” said Couvall, of Waukegan, adding one page of signatures was not notarized.

He also is a vice chairman for Lake County Democrats.

Hickory was unavailable for comment.

The Illinois State Board of Elections should make a decision early next year.

The Democratic winner of the March 18 primary will oppose former U.S. Rep. Robert Dold (R-10th) in the Nov. 4 general election. He is unopposed in the Republican primary.
