Poetry workshop in Palatine

Poet Andrea Witzke Slot will lead a a Second Saturday Poetry Workshop to be held 9 a.m.-noon, Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, from 9 a.m.-noon. The program, “No Ideas But in Things,” will explore issues of imagery. Witzke Slot is a poet, scholar, teacher, and mother. Her first book is To Find a New Beauty (Gold Wake Press, 2012). Witzke Slot’s work has appeared in many places. She teaches at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is an editor at RHINO Poetry.
Participants are encouraged to bring 15 copies of their own work to share with the group. The workshop, sponsored by the Northwest Cultural Council, takes place at the Palatine Public Library, 700 N.
