Barrington D-220 announces early school dismissal as snowstorm approaches

Barrington schools will dismiss students at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday in an attempt to get pupils home before the forecasted snowstorm.
The early dismissal, announced on the District 220 website, states that the 1:15 afternoon bell at the middle schools and BHS will “allow time for safe transport of all students.”
Barrington elementary schools will dismiss at 3 p.m., “so students can return home as close as possible as their normal time,” according to the district.
There will be no afternoon kindergarten or early childhood classes. The KEEP kindergarten program is open but all after school park district childcare programs are canceled, the district stated.
All other after school, athletic and evening activities throughout the district also are canceled unless informed otherwise. For more information, residents are advised to check the district website, barrington220.org.
