Barrington, Lake Zurich brace for Tuesday snow storm

Updated: February 26, 2013 1:28PM

Barrington and Lake Zurich’s snow removal crews have been deployed as snow begins to blanket the area.

“We’ve got a full crew out now,” said Mark Werksman, Barrington’s director of public works, early Tuesday. “We’ll be out until the storm is over.”

With about a dozen plow trucks canvassing the area, Werksman encouraged residents to stay inside.

“The big thing we’re asking is for people to stay off the streets,” he said.

Mike Brown, Lake Zurich’s superintendent of general services, also reported a full crew of vehicles and equipment were dispersed to clear its streets.

“We’ll send a crew out to salt before the rush hour,” he said, adding that teams will continue de-icing throughout the storm.
