South Barrington resident named CEO of Westlake Hospital

William A. Brown has been named chief executive officer for Westlake Hospital in Melrose Park.

Brown comes to Westlake most recently from Provena Health where he served as system senior vice president as well as president & CEO of Provena Saint Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Prior to working for Provena, Brown served as leader of both community and academic-affiliated health systems and hospitals across the country, including secular and faith-based, not-for-profit and for-profit organizations.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to lead Westlake into the future,” Brown was quoted as saying in a statement released by Westlake. “For 84 years Westlake Hospital has been focus on delivering the most advanced medicine to treat and cure the diseases of those whom we are so privileged to serve. My goal is to make Westlake more than just a community hospital, I intend on transforming Westlake into a resource for health and health care that plays a significant role in the communities’ overall wellness, disease management and disease prevention.”

Brown lives in South Barrington with his wife, Mickey, and his two children Blaine and Katie.
