BARRINGTON — Barrington is set to kick off the summer season on Memorial Day weekend with its fourth annual Barrington Art Festival. The festival, which will take place at the corner of Cook and Station streets, will feature the work of 130 artists from around the world in mediums including paint, sculpture, jewelry, metal and photography. BARRINGTON — The Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office informed Barrington School District 220 on Wednesday that county prosecutors have dropped criminal charges against Julie Salk, the former chair of Barrington High School’s Fine Arts Department. Salk, who retired from the district last June, was charged with theft in November for allegedly stealing from the district. The charges were classified as a Class 3 felony.
