Football: Barrington wraps up season by routing Hoffman Estates

Broncos clinch share of first MSL West title since 2004.

THE SKINNY

 

Barrington (8-1, 4-1 MSL West) took home a piece of its first MSL West Division title since 2004 Friday night, thanks to a dominant 41-0 win over visiting Hoffman Estates. The Broncos are co-division champs with Schaumburg, according to Barrington coach Joe Sanchez, as Schaumburg also finished 4-1 in MSL play. The Saxons, however, are the only team to beat Barrington this season.

 

TURNING POINT

 

The Broncos needed just seven plays to march 58 yards on their opening drive, capped by a 1-yard touchdown run by 5-foot-4 sophomore Nate King. They tacked on three more TDs before the end of the first quarter, and the blowout was on.
