THE SKINNY

Second-seeded Barrington (9-1) took advantage of two first-half mistakes by 15th-seeded Evanston, turning an interception and a failed punt into 14 points and jumping out to an early lead over the Wildkits (5-5) Saturday. Barrington senior quarterback Dan Kubiuk threw all three of his touchdowns to junior Scotty Miller in the 23-8 victory.

TURNING POINT

Down 23-0 early in the third quarter, the Wildkits had a chance to cut into the deficit after starting their possession at the Barrington 25-yard line. But junior linebacker Jake Coon recorded his second interception of the game.
