It's National Filet Mignon Day. So, we asked on Twitter: What is the best way to cook a steak? Here are some of the responses:

Prairie House Tavern (@Prairie_House): "cooking a steak is a personal pref. With regards to National Filet Mignon Day we enjoy that cut grilled to a medium rare!"

Morton's The Steakhouse (@Mortons): "We say, whichever way you like it!"

Gianni's Cafe (@MyGiannis): "Keep it simple. Medium Rare, on the Grill. Lightly season w salt, pepper, dash of garlic. Serve w sauteed mushrooms & greens!"

Chef Rick Tramonto (@cheftramonto): "on a good charcoal grill."

Dorfler's Meat Market (@DorflersMeats): "direct heat on the grill for 2 minutes/side, then 4-5 minutes/side over indirect heat for a nice crust and med rare center! We like to let the meat stand out so just a simple dash of salt & pepper or Char Crust before throwing it on the grill!"

Charles Berman (@ChuckerB): "USDA Prime cooked under a 1200-plus degree overhead, infrared broiler."
